Does participation in service-networks encourage or enable individuals to challenge the law?

Fethullah Gülen

Integration or participation does not in any way prompt participants in Hizmet to breach the limits of the System. While seeking integration to the Gülen Movement individuals are not required, or allowed, to challenge the constraints established by law or the general public. The history of Hizmet so far has not shown any illegality.

It is through micro-relational mechanisms (that is, friendships, acquaintance, associational networks, and kinships) that people are motivated to join the Gülen Movement. These mechanisms reduce the cost of participation and encourage people to mobilize themselves without law-breaking or risky behavior.
