The Path, Suffering and the Result

Sometimes we get stuck on little things and get waylaid off our path. Bazen küçük şeylere takılıp ara veriyoruz, belki.
Is it the carnal soul or one's conscience that spurs one on, I cannot tell: Nefis mi konuşturuyor, yoksa vicdanımın sesi mi, onu da bilemiyorum:
'What is going to happen if I keep talking? "Sanki benim konuşmalarımla ne olacak insanlara.
What is it worth anyways? Ne ifade eder ki?
What good did it do until now?'
These can come to my mind and they may be evil suggestions.
Why do you care, if your speech is worth anything or not? Sana ne; ne ifade ederse etsin.
Come to your senses and seek sincerity, contentment, sincere love and a desire to meet God. Sen, kendini toparla, bütün benliğinle Cenâb-ı Hakk'a yönel, hep "İhlas, Rıza, Hâlis Aşk ve İştiyak" de.
Then ask yourself whether you maintain the balance on issues regarding your heart and spirit, while seeking refuge in God and say: Sonra, "kalb"e müteallik, "ruh"a müteallik, "sırr"a müteallik meselelerde tam istikameti koruyor musun, korumuyor musun; onu, Sahibine (celle celâluhu) havale et:
'My Lord, "Allah'ım.
Do not let me deviate from steadfastness, loyalty and sincerity, not even by a minute amount'.
Sometimes you may get stuck on small worldly matters. Bazen öyle olabilir; bazen daha küçük dünyevî meselelere takılma olabilir.
Sometimes you might be affected because of the current suffering of your friends, storm upon storm that we witness. Bazen de günümüzdeki fırtınalar/rüzgârlar biraz şiddetli esiyor; tsunamiler birbirini takip ediyor; çevrenizdeki arkadaşların çektikleri ızdırapları görüyorsunuz.
These events might affect your immune systems, and they waylay you.
You must show more courage in this situation. Orada daha yürekli olmak lazım.
Have more willpower Daha iradeli olmak lazım.
You need to seek the opinion of your friends. Arkadaşların mütalaalarına/düşüncelerine başvurmak lazım.
You need to listen to their needs.
God tests His beloved servants in different ways. Ne yapalım, Allah en sevdiği ıbâdını (kullarını) değişik zamanlarda hep aynı şeylere maruz bırakmış.
Prophet Adam was tested while in Paradise.
He made such an error that out of regret he did not raise his head to the heavens for forty years.
This does not mean that God is in the skies, it signifies the Greatness of God;  Bu, başın semaya doğru kaldırılması, Cenâb-ı Hakk'ın yüceliğini ifade etmek için; yoksa Allah (celle celâluhu)
'Neither in the heavens nor on the earth; neither on the right nor the left; neither before or after; "Ne yerlerde, ne göklerde, ne sağ u sol, ön ve ardda
He is absolutely free from any direction. He is not contained by space.' Cihetlerden münezzehtir ki hiç olmaz mekânullah."
But Prophet Adam could not raise his head to the skies for forty years. Fakat kırk sene başını yukarıya kaldıramamış.
Why? Neden sonra diyorlar.
It happened after God commanded him: Vakıa, Cenâb-ı Hakk'ın ona talim buyurduğu:
He makes the supplication 'Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. "Rabbimiz, biz nefsimize zulmettik.
If You do not forgive us and do not have mercy on us, we will surely be among those who have lost!' (Al-A'raf, 7:23). Sen kusurumuzu mağfiret buyurup bize merhamet etmezsen en büyük kayba uğrayanlardan oluruz" (A'râf, 7:23) şeklindeki duayı okuyor.
By its general meaning: 'Eve and I, and even Satan have wronged ourselves. If you do not forgive us, we will surely be among those who have lost.' "Havva, ben, hatta şeytan, nefsimize zulmettik; mağfiret etmez isen, hüsranda olanlardan, kaybedenlerden oluruz."
This is the implied meaning. İcmâlî manası itibarıyla.
God, may He be glorified and exalted, taught him this verse, and the Honourable Adam kept repeating this verse over and over again. Allah (celle celâluhu), bu ayeti tâlim buyurmuş, Hazreti Âdem onu tekrar edip durmuş, tekrar edip durmuş.
Among the prayers of the great Prophets, there are other supplications made by the Honourable Adam, which can be found in the book The Imploring Hearts. Enbiyâ-ı ızâmın duaları içinde, Hazreti Âdem'in dediği farklı şeyler de var, el-Kulûbu'd-Dâria'da; Enbiyâ-ı ızâmın duaları içinde, baktığınız zaman göreceksiniz onu.
However, the supplication in the above verse is the most reliable one as it is found in the Qur'an.
Prophet Noah did not only suffer from his community but also from his wife.
This is stated in Chapter At-Tahrim.
'God presents the wife of Noah and the wife of Lot as an example for those who disbelieve:  "Allah, küfre batmış olanlar için Nuh'un hanımı ile Lût'un hanımını misal getirir:
They were married to two of Our righteous servants yet betrayed them (by rejecting the Messages they brought from God and collaborating with the unbelievers).  Her ikisi de, kullarımız içinde iki sâlih kulun nikâhı altında idiler, fakat (onları inkâr ederek ve düşmanlarıyla işbirliği yaparak) onlara ihanet ettiler.
But they (their husbands) availed them nothing against God, and it was said to them: "Enter the Fire with all those who enter it!"' (At-Tahrim, 66:10). (Peygamber olan) kocalarının Allah karşısında onlara hiçbir yardımı dokunmadı ve her ikisine de, "Girin Ateş'e ona girenlerle birlikte" denildi" (Tahrîm, 66:10).
The wife of the Pharaoh, our mother Asiya, is mentioned with appreciation. Hazreti Asiye validemiz (Firavun'un hanımı) takdir ile yâd ediliyor.
Our mother Mary is exalted. Meryem validemiz göklere çıkarılıyor.
But Prophet Lot's wife (known as 'Odetta' in the Old Testament) and Prophet Noah's wife are denigrated.
They were together with the prophets, in their homes listening to them throughout their lives; in the Prophets' homes but caught in Satan's trap. Bunlar peygamber ocağında, peygamber yatağında senelerce peygamberi dinliyorlar; fakat tamamen peygamber yatağında ama şeytanın tuzağında.
May God protect us from it. Hafizanallah.
What agony those prophets must have gone through as they are the ones with a clear sight of the future.
They can see inside the tombs. Kabri gören insanlar.
They can see the Intermediate Realm. Berzah'ı gören insanlar.
They can see the Great Gathering, the Great Scale. Mahşer'i, Mizan'ı gören insanlar.
They can see the Bridge of Sirat. Sırât'ı gören insanlar.
They can see Hell in all its horror and terror. Cehennem'i bütün dehşeti ile, ürperticiliği ile gören insanlar.
They can see Paradise with all its splendour, luxury, and extravagance. Cennet'i bütün şaşaasıyla, debdebesiyle, ihtişamıyla, hezâfiriyle gören insanlar.
Consequently, the idea of 'winning' and 'losing' has a different effect on them because of their scope and perception. Dolayısıyla, onların ufku açısından, "kazanma" ve "kaybetme" mevzuunun sizde/bizde olandan çok farklı tesiri olur.
Positive things make them so happy, as if they are flying in the sky with angels but on the other hand, negative things bury them to the ground.
They have suffered from the people closest to them.  Ee çekmişler bunlar; hatta en yakınlarından çekmişler.
Now look at things from this perspective. Şimdi meseleleri bu zaviyeden ele alın.
The Pride of Humanity, peace and blessings be upon him. İnsanlığın İftihar Tablosu (sallallâhu aleyhi ve sellem).
Don't we all see the matter like this? And among people it is said, 'If it were not for you, Muhammad, I would not have created the worlds' Herkes meseleyi öyle kabul ediyor mu, etmiyor mu?
Even though the relevant Prophetic Tradition is open to criticism in terms of authenticity, there are other statements supporting this, 'Everything that has been created is for his sake.'
Necip Fazıl, in his book about the life of Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, preferred to say, 'Him for whose sake we exist.'
Yes, on the one hand, God is the Creator, may He be glorified and exalted; and on the other hand, the priceless means is Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him.
May God allow us to stand behind that cause in full loyalty. Cenâb-ı Hak, o vesilenin arkasında sâdıkâne durmaya muvaffak kılsın.
He sends him to enlighten people, with the needed faculties and capacity.
He becomes an orphan at a young age.  Çocukluğunda ayrı yetimlik çekiyor.
He is raised by his uncle. Amcasının yanında neşet ediyor.
He then stays with our mother Halimah for a certain period of time. Başka bir yerde, Halime validemizin yanında kalıyor, belli bir miktar.
That is, even during his childhood he is not subject to the things one normally would be from a mother and father. Yani, çocukluğunda bile bir çocuğun annesinden-babasından göreceği şeyi göremiyor. -Canım çıksın.
If I lived in his time, I don't know if I would have given my life for him. Bilmiyorum, o zamanda olsaydım canımı verir miydim O'nun için.
It seems like I would now. Şimdi veririm gibi geliyor.
But just as one of his Companions says: Fakat hani bir sahabînin dediği gibi.
'Do not say that, we suffered so much. Many deviated in the face of all that suffering.' "Yahu öyle demeyin" diyor, "Biz ne çektik orada; çokları o çekme karşısında dayanamadı da inhiraflara yuvarlandı."
May God protect us; He is honoured with Prophethood after a certain time.
His whole tribe, even his closest the Hashimites, Bani Taym and Bani Mahzum oppose him.
They plan his death; They plan different plots on this matter. Ölümüne kastediyorlar; o mevzuda değişik değişik komplolar planlıyorlar.
There was not a day in his thirteen years in the Noble Mecca that he did not suffer. On üç sene Mekke-i Mükerreme'de çekmediği gün kalmıyor O'nun.
This means that the matter of suffering is not a matter of merit.
However there is perspective to the situation, and this may be a Sophist approach: Fakat meselenin bir yanı şudur, belki sofîce bir yaklaşım oluyor bu:
By allowing one's suffering, God, may He be glorified and exalted, is in fact combining elements belonging to the afterlife. Allah (celle celâluhu) burada insana çektirmek suretiyle, âhirete âit örgü adına unsurlar oluşturuyor.
That is the 'abode of Power;' here you are creating the lacework of your existence. Orası "Kudret dairesi"; burada siz kendi varlık dantelanızı örgülüyorsunuz.
This is God's custom; you are creating the lacework of your existence here. Allah'ın âdeti bu; varlık dantelanızı örgülüyorsunuz burada.
And from this angle we embrace it: Bu açıdan da onu öperek başımıza koymamız lazım:
'We are pleased with God as our Lord, Islam as our religion, the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, as our Messenger.' Thus we must perceive all of these as a blessing from God Almighty. "Rab olarak Allah'tan, din olarak İslâm'dan, rasûl ve nebi peygamber olarak da Hazreti Muhammed'den (aleyhissalâtü vesselâm) razı olduk" dolayısıyla bütün bunları, Cenâb-ı Hakk'ın bize bir lütfu olarak algılamak lazım:
'All praise be to God. "Elhamdülillah.
God Almighty has placed us here. Bizi, Cenâb-ı Hak burada konumlandırıyor.
He places others at places that could leave them in despair.
Whatever you have prepared and sent for the Hereafter, you will experience it as pleasure after pleasure once you enter the grave, you will see pleasure upon pleasure and live in intoxicated happiness. Siz, öbür âlem adına ne örgülemiş ve göndermişseniz, kabre girdiğiniz andan itibaren onu temaşa ile zevkten zevke geçeceksiniz, farklı zevk tabloları karşısında hep mest u mahmur yaşayacaksınız.
So much so that you will think you're in Paradise from that moment.
Once you enter Paradise you will forget everything.
Because, 'Thousands of years of happiness is not equivalent to a minute of life in Paradise.' Zira "Dünyanın binlerce sene mesûdâne hayatı, bir dakika Cennet hayatına mukabil gelmez."
One minute. Bir dakika.
Then there is the matter of seeing the beauty and greatness of God Almighty. Ee bir de Cenâb-ı Hakk'ın cemâl-i bâ kemâlini görme.
1.5 trillion galaxies... Şu bir buçuk trilyon galaksi.
A system like 1.5 trillion solar systems.
All the beauty that has been sprinkled in these creations. Bütün bunlara serpiştirilen güzellikler.
Beings created for these things. Onlara göre yaratılan mahlûklar.
If you only consider the Earth, which is considered the 'index' of all beauties. Sadece fihrist olan küre-i arz üzerindeki o güzelliklere baksanız.
Even thinking about the analysis that the Honourable Sage Bediüzzaman presents eloquently as evidence. Hazreti Pîr-i Mugân'ın tahlilleri ile delil olarak serdettiği şeyleri düşünseniz.
For example, animals; millions of them. The Honourable Sage Bediüzzaman said, '300 thousand' for the zoologists of that time said that there were this many animals. All of these beauties have been scattered across the world. Mesela, hayvanat; iki milyon, üç milyon -belki- hayvanat.
You are going to observe it all in a single piece of art, as if observing the full moon.
Something I repeat often, as it is stated in Bad al-Amali: Çok tekrar ettiğim bir şey, Bed'ü'l-Emâlî'de dendiği gibi:
'Muslims will see Him in pure form. "Mü'minler, O'nu keyfiyetsiz ve kemmiyetsiz olarak görürler.
No analogy can be brought to explain this. Buna bir misal de getirilemez.
And when they see Him, they forget all the blessings of Paradise. O'nu gördükleri zaman da bütün Cennet nimetlerini unuturlar.
May frustration be upon those Mutazilites who claim, "God cannot be seen."' 'Allah görülmez' diyen Ehl-i İ'tizâl'e hüsran olsun."
And when they see Him, they forget all the blessings of Paradise.
They will forget the paths to their villas and partners. Villaların yolunu, Hûrilerin yolunu, köşklerin yolunu unutacaklar.
They will be intoxicated.
If all of this is given to humans with the promise of eternity, I think if we not only spend every day but every minute, every second under a different type of torture, what would happen?
These are transient things. Gelip geçici şeyler.
Indeed, those who are shameless act according to their own character. Evet, hırtapozlar kendi karakterlerinin gereğini sergiliyorlar.
Do you know what 'shameless' is? "Hırtapoz" (utanmaz, patavatsız, saygısız, serseri) biliyor musunuz?
They demonstrate their own character. Kendi karakterlerinin gereğini sergiliyorlar.
You need to display actions worthy of your character.  Ee size düşen şey de kendi karakterlerinizin gereğini sergilemek.
What is that? O nedir?
You know how when one witnesses horrible, shocking events and would say, 'May God damn them'. Bakın, hani birisi canı sıkılınca böyle, öfkeyle, şok hadiseler karşısında, tahammülünü aşan şeyler karşısında, "Allah kahretsin" falan der.
No, instead of saying that, quickly ask for Almighty God's guidance. Hayır, öyle diyeceğinize daha kestirmeden, Cenâb-ı Hakk'ın hidayetini isteyin.
Say, 'O God, bless them with your guidance. "Allah'ım, hidayetin ile onları da serfirâz kıl.
Show them the path to Paradise. Onlara da Cennet'e giden yolu göster.
Save them from wasting time on the path of Satan.' Cennet-mennet falan deyip de böyle şeytanın yolunda oyalanmaktan onları da kurtar, halas eyle" falan deyin.
Prayers in favour of others, swiftly get accepted into God's Presence, speaking against others get stuck on the way.
  Hafizanallah.
Our responsibility is to behave humanely, think humanely and speak humanely. Evet, bize düşen şey, insanca davranmak, insanca düşünmek, insanca konuşmaktır.
In this respect, we should make thousands of praises to God for placing us in this situation; we should have compassion for those in their states.
Think about the Pride of Humanity returning from the Ascension. İnsanlığın İftihar Tablosu'nu Miraç'tan dönerken düşünün.
He experiences Paradise we just mentioned. He returns from the ascension to guide others. Biraz evvelki Cennet'i yaşıyor O. Miraç'tan dönerken, başkalarının elinden tutmak için dönüyor.
To show them the path of salvation, he returned to open the doors for them. Onlara hidayet yolunu göstermek için, kapı aralamak için dönüyor.
May the Ultimate Truth and Ever-Constant God allow him to be our intercessor, and allow us to come under his protection on the day of judgement. Cenâb-ı Hak, bizi, O'nun şefaati ile serfirâz kılsın, Livâu'l-Hamd'i altında bir araya gelmeye muvaffak eylesin.
'There are three things that lead people to feel a sense of misery: "İnsanları sefalet ve sukût-i hayale bâis üç şey vardır:
The minds stupidity, the humiliation of the spirit, and the addiction of the body.' Aklın kılleti, ruhun zilleti, vücudun illeti."
May God guard us from these things. Allah, bunlardan muhafaza buyursun.
And bestow us with perfected minds, consciences and spirits. Akl-ı kâmil ile, hiss-i kâmil ile, rûh-i kâmil ile serfirâz eylesin.
The great prophets completed the tasks they were given.  Enbiyâ-ı ızâm, bir taraftan edâ edecekleri misyonu eda etmişler.
This was explained to them. O kendilerine anlatılmış.
They then related this all, the existence of God, His qualities, His names and His divine essence in the manner in which it must be made known.
From their own perspectives, their sense of comprehension and direct witnessing of God and the messages they receive, they portrayed Him accordingly.  Kendi ufukları açısından onlar, duyuşlarına, sezişlerine, müşahedelerine ve O'ndan gelen mesajlara göre O'nu anlatmışlar.
If it wasn't for their explanation, without knowing, we could have become materialists, Naturalists, or Monistic, or believed in pantheism, may God protect us from it. Onların anlatması olmasaydı, hiç farkına varmadan gider bazılarımız Materyalizm'e, bazılarımız Natüralizm'e, bazılarımız Monizm'e, bazılarımız Panteizm'e saplanıp kalırdık, hafizanallah.
These all cross the border into deviation.  Bunların hepsi inhiraf çizgileridir.
Thus, in the sight of God, they do not express anything.  Dolasıyla da nezd-i Ulûhiyette hiçbir şey ifade etmez.
Imagine, you strive to make sense of things, exert yourself, work hard, yet end up in an abyss of ideas, may God protect us from it. Ciddî bir cehd sarf edeceksiniz, gayret sarf edeceksiniz fakat kendinizi yine düşünce gayyası içinde göreceksiniz, hafizanallah.
Where the value of reflection is aligned with being at the peak of thoughts and ideas.  Oysaki düşüncenin kıymeti zirvelerde dolaşmasına bağlıdır.
If He, peace and blessings be upon him, didn't mentor us on this issue.
As we say about him: Hani diyoruz ki O'na:
He, peace and blessings be upon him, is a means in our endeavours.
If he didn't show us the scope and goals, the Divine essence in a way is as 'Eyes cannot comprehend Him, reach Him and see but He comprehends all eyes, sees all. O, bu ufku bize göstermeseydi, O Zât-ı Ulûhiyeti bir yönüyle "Gözler O'nu idrak/ihata edemez, O'na ulaşıp O'nu göremez, fakat O bütün gözleri idrak eder, görür ve kuşatır.
He is in the most unseen and in the depth of things, and is aware of everything" (Al-An'am, 6:103) if he didn't portray this with the depth of his vision, we wouldn't have been able to witness and comprehend him.  O, Lâtif'dir (en derin, en görünmez şeylere de nüfuz edendir), Habîr'dir (her şeyden hakkıyla haberdardır)" (En'âm, 6:103) ufku itibarıyla bize tanıtmasaydı, biz O'nu bilemezdik.
We would not have known of God's Attributes, His Beautiful Names, and that essentially faith implants a desire for Paradise.
That is to say, belief in God bears the seed of what is in effect a Tuba-Tree of Paradise, "İman, bir manevî tûbâ-i Cennet çekirdeğini taşıyor."
We would not have known. Bunu bilemezdik.
While unbelief conceals the seed of a Zaqqum, tree of Hell. "Küfür ise manevî bir zakkum-u Cehennem tohumunu saklıyor."
'I don't know about that either. Bunu da bilemezdik.
This again belongs to him, peace and blessings be upon him.
Indeed, the great Prophets, from Adam to the Noble Messenger.  İşte enbiyâ-ı ızâm, tâ hazreti Âdem'den Efendimiz'e kadar.
But at different periods of time: Ama değişik dönemler itibarıyla.
God Almighty sends down a representative to places were thoughts have remained simple.
From a very shallow perspective. Basit düşünme seviyesinde.
Lacking depth. Basit düşünme demektir; "mürekkep" değil.
When they complexity, He sends such a representative. Mürekkep düşündükleri zaman, o ufkun insanını gönderiyor.
And when it needs to be amplified, He sends out such a representative.  Müzâaf düşündükleri zaman da o ufkun insanını gönderiyor.
According to the tribes of the time, in consideration of the depths of their culture and conjuncture, the Great Prophets are sent.
Hence, that which ought to be shown is shown. Dolasıyla tanıtılması gerekli olan şeyleri tanıtıyor:
Him, His Attributes and His Names. "Zât"ını, "Sıfat"larını, "Esmâ"sını.
The Messengers then get close to them and prove things to them. Sonra "haşr u neşri" işliyor, ispat ediyor.
As I mentioned in the morning class, I told our friends involved in this: Sabah hassasiyetle derste üzerinde durulduğu gibi, Kıtmîr de arkadaşımıza dedim, o işleri yapan arkadaşımıza dedim:
In today's age there is a growing trend towards deism.
In some Islamic countries it is alleged that there is a trend towards Islam, or a political Islam; but in actuality, people and the youth have slipped to the path of deism. Bazı İslam ülkelerinde Müslümanlık iddiası, "Siyasî İslamiyet" iddiası var; fakat insanlar/gençler Deizm'e kaymışlar.
And so in this care the topic of resurrection must be studied with great consideration.
The concept of God being the deity, and supreme must be studied with great consideration. Zât-ı Uluhiyet mevzuu çok iyi işlenip anlatılmalı.
These topics need to be analysed seriously, engaging with different perspectives, with different scholars ideas according to current opinions and presented in a manner acceptable by the world today. Günümüzün insanının anlayacağı şekilde, değişik yerlerden derlenerek, kompoze edilerek, çok ciddî analizlere tâbi tutularak, değişik ilim adamlarının mütalaalarına göre günün sesi-soluğu haline getirilerek anlatılmalı.
Yesterday, in the name of all instruments perhaps there was just the reed flute. Dün bütün enstrümanlar namına belki bir "ney" vardı.
I am not saying use them however now we have the clarinet, drums, bells, many other instruments.
Considering all of this, we need to use various instruments to make a new and improved tune or sound.
To present these issues to today's world in an understandable manner.
You need to explain with the language of astronomy, physics, astrology and anthropology. Astronomi'nin diliyle, Fizik'in diliyle, Astroloji'nin diliyle, Antropoloji'nin diliyle anlatacaksınız.
Because people are only convinced in these languages. Çünkü adamlar, o dil ile anlatılan şeylerden anlıyorlar.
In this way, these are essentially windows that open to Him. Bu itibarla da bunların her birisi esasen O'na bakan pencerelerdir.
You will make use of these windows for this purpose. Siz, o pencereleri o istikamette değerlendireceksiniz.
Yes, the Prophets gave these messages on one side. Evet, peygamberler bir taraftan bu mesajları vermişler.
I mentioned 'Resurrection'; there is also the matter of 'Prophethood/Messengership'. "Haşir" dedim, bir de işte "Nübüvvet/Risalet" mevzuu.
Imam al-Ghazali introduced 'three essentials'; the Honourable Sage Bediüzzaman adds 'Worship-Justice' and makes it four.
This is acting in accordance to your faith, a duty that should be performed for Him: 'You alone do we worship and from You alone do we seek help' (Al-Fatiha, 1:5). O da bu inanmanın gereği olarak yapmanız, O'na karşı yapmanız gerekli olan vazife: إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ
Although prophets came with messages that are constructive and protective over human's feelings and thoughts, they did actually go through troubles as well.
Hardships never ceased in their life. Başlarından sıkıntılar da hiç eksik olmamış.
As I mentioned earlier, our electrons, neurons, protons and molecules are in a sense getting trained to come to existence in the lacework of the Hereafter.
What happens here just disintegrates away. Çünkü burada olan şeyler hep eriyip gidiyor.
As you know, there is no disappearance in the Hereafter. Bildiğiniz gibi orada erime yok.
You don't even need to digest what you eat.  Hatta yediğiniz şeyleri ıtrah zahmeti de yok.
This is perhaps similar to trees. Belki ağaçların yaptıkları gibi.
They absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen on the other side.
Maybe it is something like this example.
You will enjoy the bounties and pleasures of the Hereafter with no trouble at all to the extent that you won't even sweat, with God's permission and grace.
Those are the messages. Mesaj, onlar.
Although the great Prophets came with these, they always suffered and were exposed to lots of hardships. Enbiyâ-ı ızâm, bunlar ile geldikleri halde, hep çekmişler; o sıkıntılara maruz kalmışlar.
What we inherit from them is the ability of showing the same endurance and stable position.  Şimdi onlardan bize kalan miras, esasen, bizim de aynı mukavemeti göstermemiz, çizgi değiştirmememiz.
Some people are stuck in the indulgence of this temporary world, they have a bohemian life, they eat-drink like animals and lie on their sides as described in the Twenty-three Word'. Birileri -böyle- dünyevî/muvakkat hayatta zevk u sefâ içindeler, böyle bohemce yaşıyorlar, böyle hayvanca yiyip-içip yan gelip -Yirmi Üçüncü Söz'de ifade edildiği gibi- kulakları üzerinde yatıyorlar.
One may be deceived by looking at it; may God protect us from it.  Şimdi bunlara bakıp da insan aldanabilir, hafizanallah.
There are still some troubles, but I believe over time they may convert into causes for gratitude.
If it exists in such a base soul as myself, you would be experiencing it in a greater degree.
Sometimes these transform into such lofty pleasures.
For example, you may be suffering with a burden, experiencing many different pains.
Pains encounter your body and say 'This body has no immune system, I can settle down here'.
Then another sickness settles in, then another.  O da geliyor, o da geliyor; on tane sancı birden geliyor.
But they impart such a sublime pleasure to the spirit.
'My God! "Allah Allah.
My Lord! Yâ Rabbi.
It seems I am of interest enough that You are constantly bending, moulding, and are at work on me," you say. Ben, demek o kadar bir şey imişim ki, Sen beni hep kurcalıyor, eviriyor-çeviriyor, şekillendiriyorsun" falan diyorsun.
You experience such deep joy in this that it is as if you have entered Paradise from now, that is how you feel.
Therefore, it is important to welcome everything that happens to us in this way, to let the seed of faith bloom into a tree of Paradise, God-Willing.  Dolayısıyla, başa gelen her şeyi bence böyle karşılamak lazım; imanın bir tûbâ-i Cennet çekirdeği olmasını çok iyi değerlendirmek, inkişaf ettirmek lazım, Allah'ın izni-inayetiyle.
This is the path of the Prophets.  Yol, Peygamberler yolu.
This is the manner of the Messengers.  Üslup, Peygamberler üslubu.
May God not separate us from that and may He protect us from being deceived by the splendour and pomp of the opposing side. Cenâb-ı Hak, bizi ondan ayırmasın; bizi karşı tarafın şatafat ve debdebesine bakarak aldananlardan kılmasın.
When I glanced at the screen just earlier, the words of Rumi appeared on an image, the words that depict his deep love for the prophets. Biraz evvel (elektronik tabloya) göz ucuyla bir nigâh-ı âşinâ kılınca, gördüğüm resimde, Hazreti Mevlânâ'nın o derin peygamber aşkını ifade eden sözü çıktı:
'I am a slave, I am a slave, I am a slave' "Kul oldum, kul oldum, kul oldum.
'I am bent in humility and service to You'  Ben Sana hizmette iki büklüm oldum.
'Whilst freedom is the delight of other slaves, I am delighted with being Your slave. I am a slave, I am a slave, I am a slave...'  Kullar âzâd olunca şâd olur; ben Sana kul olduğumdan dolayı şâd oldum." "Ben, kul oldum, kul oldum, kul oldum.
He is saying, I am a slave to his mission, a slave at his service.  Ben, O'nun hizmetine, Hazreti Rasûl'ün hizmetine kul oldum" diyor.
'Whilst every slave would be ecstatic if granted their freedom, I am ecstatic and brimming with joy at being His slave'.  "Her bende, kulluktan âzâd olunca, sevinir; ben, O'na kul olduğumdan dolayı, iliklerime kadar sevinç duyuyorum" diyor.
Yes, everybody can say this, with God's permission and grace. Evet, herkes öyle diyebilir bunu, Allah'ın izni-inayetiyle.
Always seek refuge in the ampleness of His Mercy: Her zaman O'nun rahmetinin vüs'atine sığınmak:
'What a relief.' "Oh be."
What would it mean to you if He was to stroke your rose leafed forelocks? Kâkül-i gülberglerinizi "Yed-i Kudsiye"siyle okşaması, sizin için ne ifade eder?
Yes. Evet.
And then to add one more thing there, 'Come here you mischievous one.'
Even this will be as if you were served with the sweetest of drinks.
'Come on, O mischievous one, you may enter Paradise, too.' "Haydi, yaramaz, sen de gir Cennet'e."
The word 'mischievous' there will feel as if you are being embraced. O "yaramaz" sözü sana "Seni bağrıma basıyorum" gibi gelir.
This. Bu.
Everything coming from Him is like this. O'ndan gelen her şey, böyledir.
May God Almighty allow us to love and make others love Him in this manner.
'Instigate the love of God in His servants' hearts so that He will love you'. "Allah'ı, kullarına sevdirin ki, Allah da sizi sevsin."
May God always keep us in line with His Grace. Allah, inâyetini bizimle beraber eylesin.
Anyhow. Neyse.
Understand mine as follows: Benimkini şöyle anlayın:
In a verse it says, 'And remind, for indeed, the reminder benefits the believers' (Adh-Dhariyat, 51:55). "Sen öğüt verip hatırlat; çünkü hatırlatmak müminlere fayda verir" (Zâriyât, 51:55).
Whatever instrument you are engaging and explaining with, you should remind others in reality. Hangi enstrüman ile konuşuyorsanız/anlatıyorsanız, siz hatırlatın esasen.
Reminding would be of benefit to believers. Hatırlatma, mü'minlere faydalı olacaktır.
During periods of trial, the loyal ones together with the great Prophets also suffered.
Just like our noble Prophet was patient, as was Abu Bakr and Umar and Uthman and Ali as well as all of the other Companions; those in Mecca, those in Medina, they all persevered in the face of adversity and tribulations.
They showed their obedience in worship to their Lord even until they faced such hardship; And God Almighty bestowed them with such capacity and forbearance that they reached the ideal state.
And in the continuation of that ideal state, they faced numerous trials and difficulties but each one they faced were destroyed with their patience and forbearance.
Today, there are those people who sincerely serve their Lord in all four corners of the world, not dreaming about worldly monuments in their own name.
I believe that none of our brothers and sisters, never once thought that they would own armoured vehicle in their own name.
However some of them purchase fifty and say, "I think it would be better if it was one hundred".
Then it will become one hundred. Sonra yüz olsa.
In one of his sayings the noble Prophet stated about this worldly life, 'If he had two mountains of gold, he would want a third.'  Hani Efendimiz'in (sallallâhu aleyhi ve sellem) hadis-i şerifleri var; ehl-i dünya için, "İki dağ altını olsa, üçüncü dağı ister" buyuruyor.
And they say, 'It would be better if there were three hundred.'
The guards become one hundred, 'Two hundred will be better. Korumalar yüz tane oluyor, "İki yüz tane olsa daha iyi olur.
Four hundred will be better. Dört yüz tane daha iyi olur.
Indeed an army is required.'
You know... Anlayın.
An army. Bir ordu.
The Honourable Umar did not have even ten people protecting him. Ee canım çıksın, Hazreti Ömer'in arkasında onu koruyucu on tane insan yoktu.
Who was Umar? Hazreti Ömer kimdi?
He brought together and aligned two powerful states: İki tane güçlü devleti, iki süper gücü hizaya getirmişti:
The Persians and Romans were the two strongest and most powerful states of the world and he brought them together.
He was constantly in a state of bowing and standing in the masjid and on the sand.  Kendisi mescitte yatıp-kalkıyordu, kumun üzerinde yatıp-kalkıyordu.
He would consult with five to ten people.  Beş-on tane insan ile orada meşveret ediyordu.
Those who say, 'I am a Muslim' but do not act in that way. "Ben Müslümanım" diyen, böyle olmayan insanlar.
I would like to say something but will it be too much of a burden to say? Bir şey diyeceğim, ağır mı olur?
They are telling lies and only lies. Vallahi de yalan söylüyorlar, billahi de yalan söylüyorlar, tallahi de yalan söylüyorlar.
They are hypocrites, everyone should know.  Onlar, münafıktır; herkes de bilsin, münafıktır.
It seems to me that they have carried their duty with steadfastness and integrity. With God's consent, they will reap their rewards for the efforts they have put in.
After all, that's what it says in the messages received.
Now I am experiencing such a tremor. Şimdi ben bir sarsıntı yaşıyorum ki.
'I wonder if what has been done in the face of the Yazids and Hajjajs was because of our ignorance.' "Acaba, bu Yezîd'lere karşı, Haccâc'lara karşı yapılacak şeyleri bilemediğimizden/cehaletimizden dolayı mı?"
Those who are in relation to us are suffering and being tortured. Size nisbet edilen bu insanlar, işkence çekiyorlar orada, ızdırap çekiyorlar.
Innocent children and babies are dying at birth; mothers are dying, their husbands are dying.  Çocuklar, masum çocuklar, anasından dünyaya yeni gelmiş çocuklar ölüyor; kadınlar ölüyor, beyleri ölüyor.
Some of them are trying to escape overseas to countries they've known to be as their enemies; they are drowning in the Evros river. Bazıları yurt dışına kaçıyor, dün düşman kabul ettiği insanların ülkelerine kaçmak istiyor; Meriç'te boğuluyor, başka yerde boğuluyor.
Or when they are headed to a place, things happen on the way. Veya giderken başka yerlerde başka türlü şeyler oluyor.
Dungeons... Zindanlar.
Kidnappings, bandits, oppressive acts. Kaçırmalar oluyor; haramilikler, kırk haramilikler oluyor.
All of this happens. Oluyor bütün bunlar.
You all hear of these things and feel them in the depths of your spirits, you are constantly in a state of shock and pain from what you hear.
They commit such torments against these innocent people hoping that they would retaliate and act as they do, as tyrants and anarchists.
In a way that will never happen. Hiç olmayacak şekilde.
I swear: Yeminle söyleyeyim:
Those that call people who would not even step on an ant and would in fact cry for half an hour having seen a bee die 'terrorists' are the terrorists themselves. Karıncaya basmayan insanlara ve aynı zamanda bir arının ölümü karşısında yarım saat ağlayan insanlara "terörist" diyenler, teröristin tâ kendisidir.
They call people who haven't stepped on an ant 'terrorists'. Karıncaya basmayan adama "terörist" diyor.
These are very upsetting things. Bunlar çok moral bozucu şeyler.
In fact, in a saying that is attributed to the Honourable Ali: Fakat Hazreti Ali'ye dayandırılan bir sözde ifade edildiği gibi:
'I will show patience beyond the point that patience is imaginable'. I will show so much patience that patience itself will be surpassed. "Sabrın sabırdan daha ötesine/acısına sabredeceğimi bileceği âna kadar dişimi sıkıp sabredeceğim" dişimi sıkıp öyle sabredeceğim ki, sabır, sabırdan daha ağırına, daha çetinine, daha yobazına katlanacağımı anlayacağı âna kadar.
You see and hear of these hardships. O sıkıntıları görüyor, duyuyoruz.
And now the world is slowly becoming aware. Yavaş yavaş şimdi dünya da duyuyor.
What was your goal? Maksadınız ne idi sizin?
As a matter of fact, your positive stance, no matter what the torments being thrown at you is gaining widespread attention.
Your strength in presentation and manner is gathering attention. Temsil ve hâldeki gücünüz dikkat çekiyor.
As in, your willingness to die for service without expecting an ounce of return.
Considering dying on the path of service as a golden opportunity. Hizmet yolunda ölmeyi cana minnet sayma.
Most of our friends who travelled across the globe have been buried in the countries that they have passed on in. Giden arkadaşların çoğu öldükleri yerlerde gömüldüler.
I had a brother Hayati, whom I loved very much, was buried in Kazakhstan. Benim candan sevdiğim Hayatî kardeşim vardı, Kazakistan'da defnedildi.
When I was being searched for in Turkey, I had entered the country as a fugitive and he was the only one with me.
We walked barefoot for 7 or 8 kilometres together shivering from the unforgiving cold. Yaya, yedi-sekiz kilometrelik yeri beraber geçtik; tir tir titriyordum soğuktan.
He had said, 'Sir, rest your back against my back'. "Hocam, sırtını sırtıma ver benim" demişti.
But he went to Kazakhstan. Ama gitti Kazakistan'a.
He was sick and I suggested that he go back to Turkey, Hasta idi, "Türkiye'ye dön.
and seek treatment in a hospital. Hastanede tedavi olursun" dedim.
He replied, 'No, I came here for service, I cannot come back.' "Hayır, ben Hizmet için oraya gittim, dönemem" dedi.
Yes, both now and back then, these people travelled to lands afar with no self interest in mind, by God's grace and will. Evet, o gün bugün giden insanlar hiçbir şeyi talep etme niyetiyle gitmediler, Allah'ın izni-inayetiyle.
They didn't have any expectations. Bir beklentileri olmadı.
As a matter of fact, it is impossible for those whose work depends on some expectations to succeed all the time.  Aslında, yaptığı işler beklentiye bağlı olan insanların sürekli başarılı olmaları mümkün değildir.
With all these in mind, it is only natural for us to feel those people's sufferings. Bütün bunlarla beraber, bizim o insanların ızdırabını duymamız, gayet tabiidir.
Thousands, hundreds of thousands of people are being trampled in the same mangle; they are being ground on the same stone like a roaster grinds coffee.  Binlerce, yüz binlerce insan aynı cendere içinde ezilmekte, aynı dibekte dövülmekte, bir tahmisçinin (kuru kahvecinin) dövdüğü gibi dövülmekte.
However, they endure; therefore, we must also bite our tongues and endure those storms that hit us.  Fakat onlar katlanıyorlar; biz de gelip bize çarpan o fırtınalar karşısında dişimizi sıkıp katlanmalıyız.
And our thoughts must follow this truth: Mülahazalarımız ise şu hakikate bağlı olmalı:
'Only want the One, call the One, desire the One, see the One, know the One; say purely and simply Him.' "Yalnız Bir'i iste, Bir'i çağır, Bir'i talep et, Bir'i gör, Bir'i bil; sadece ve sadece Bir'i söyle."
Oh my Lord who brings together those who live in subjugation, free all those innocents whose freedom has been usurped. Ey esaret hayatı yaşayanları hürriyetine kavuşturan Allah'ım, hürriyeti gasp edilmiş bütün masumları bir an evvel hürriyetlerine kavuştur.
O God, lead them to salvation. Allah'ım, onları kurtuluşa erdir.
O God, bless all our men and women, old and young brothers and sisters, our friends, and our loved ones living all over the world and in every part of life with freedom; lead all of them to salvation at the earliest, earliest, earliest, earliest, earliest, earliest time.
O God, save them and free them in such a way that they will never need anyone else's freeing, that they won't place reliance into worldly causes and that they won't feel indebted for anything other than God.  Allah'ım, onları öyle kurtar ve hürriyete kavuştur ki, Senden gayrı kimsenin serbest bırakmasına muhtaç olmasın, esbaba bel bağlamasın ve mâsivânın minneti altında kalmasınlar.
O All-Merciful One, The One of Majesty and Grace!' Ey Erhamerrâhimîn, ey Celal ve İkram Sahibi.
