Islam and Art
What is Islam's view on art?
As shown by the Qur'an, it is to see creation as it is and then to represent it abstractly. Abstraction is one of the most pronounced characteristics of Islamic art.
As you emphasized, there are written criticisms on Islamic art. But when it comes to the relationship between theory and practice, not very concrete things are said.
When explaining this matter, because we can't express some things according to our own way of thinking, we might fall into dualism. We can get into a dilemma. For this reason, I've left expressing my opinion on art to a later time. If God gives me the opportunity, I am thinking of writing on this subject sometime in the future. August 13-23, 1995
