Al-Ahram Columnist Writes About Gülen's Letter
One of the most prominent newspapers of Egypt and the Arab World, Al-Ahram, published a letter from Fethullah Gülen yesterday.
Ahmed Behcet, a well respected columnist for the newspaper and who had written the introduction to the Arabic edition of Gülen's book entitled "Infinite Light" last Ramadan in which Gülen talks about the life of the Prophet Muhammed and its relevance in the 21st century, yesterday devoted his column to a letter received from Gülen. Behcet introduced the letter in his column as "The letter I received from the Great Turkish thinker, Fethullah Gülen." Behcet said that Gülen looks at the future with much optimism, intelligence and trust.
In the letter Gülen drew attention to studies conducted by scientists and emphasized that scientists would direct humanity down the right path. Gülen stressed in the letter that religion and science would walk hand in hand in every aspect of the life thanks to these studies. "Faith and intelligence will embrace each other and will allow humanity to achieve happiness and to find the true path," wrote Gülen.
The Al-Ahram newspaper, with its daily circulation of over one million, is regarded as one of the largest and the most influential papers of the Arab World. (Cumali Onal)
