An Apology

"The Writing about my client Fethullah Gülen in Time Out Istanbul's November 2002 issue is untrue.

On the 4th page of the November 2002 issue of Time out Istanbul magazine's supplement a completely false claim about my client Fethullah Gülen has been stated.

In this writing it has been claimed that the video cassette in which Ankara DGM (State Security Court) attorney Nuh Mete Yuksel is seen together with a woman has been found in one of Fethullah Gülen's foundations. But somehow, the name of this foundation has not been mentioned in this text. To constitute a relationship between my client and the cassette is not only without proof and unfair, but also a direct and merciless violation of the personal rights of my client.

It has been published by all the media and known to all public that the cassette relating to attorney Yuksel was found in the Contemporary Education Foundation (Cagdas Egitim Vakfi) by Anti-Terrorism Branch (Terorle Mucadele Subesi) under the decision of the DGM (State Security Court). It is known to all public that the Contemporary Education Foundation (Cagdas Egitim Vakfi) has no relation to my client; on the contrary, it is known that this foundation and its president are actively involved in a lawsuit at the DGM (State Security Court) against my client.

Very far from being objective, and with unknown purpose, this text cannot be related with any ethics, not to mention the ethics of the press. I hereby declare to the public that my client has nothing to do with this ugly attribution as stated."
