Brooklyn TCC's 4th Friendship Dinner
In the spirit of friendship and peace, The Turkish Cultural Center of Brooklyn held its 4th Annual Friendship Dinner at the Baku palace in Brooklyn/ New York. The dinner is one of the most aniticapted events of the Turkish Cultural Center Brooklyn.
The gathering promotes solidarity and unity for a wide variety of ethnic traditions and cultures to promote peace and harmony within the society. The event hosted more than 200 prominent figures including state officials, academics, and faith and community leaders.
The intercultural dinner emphasizes the values of mutual understanding, deep respect, love, and peace.
Mehmet Samsar of the Turkish Consul General in New York said throughout the history, Turkiye there has been a home of peace and tolerance for everybody without digging through people's backgrounds.
Brooklyn Borough President, Marty Markowitz, thanked the TCC for what they have done for the people of Brooklyn.
Reverend Eugene Pappas, from the Greek Orthodox Church, said we share Abrahamic roots, we can not survive alone.
Rabbi Jack Farhi, also talked about his experience with Turkiye.
Towards the end of the program, Mehmet Kilic president of the Turkish Cultural Center in Brooklyn, said this dinner proves that we can come together and talk with each other regardless of our backgrounds.
The guests were treated to a lovely night out, while people indulged in conversation they also enjoyed a concert, a whirling dervishes and Ebru performance.
