Istanbul Fascinates Turkish Olympiad Competitors

The students participating in the International Turkish Language Olympiad yesterday experienced an unforgettable tour of Istanbul.

A total of 355 students from 84 countries enjoyed a Bosphorous boat tour and relaxed in Istanbul after the tiring Olympiad competition of the previous night.

The students from the international Turkish Schools were fascinated by beauty and history of Istanbul, and were informed about the architecture and the famous historical buildings along the banks of the Bosphorous.

Lunching on the boat, the students enjoyed the sea, sun, and fabulous sights of the Bosphorous Straits.

After the boat tour, the students visited Dolmabahce Palace, where they asked many questions about the palace, home to the late Ottoman Sultans in the 19th Century, and paid special attention to the room, where Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, founder of the Turkish Republic, passed away.

The students later went to MiniaTurk, where miniature scale models of important historical and contemporary buildings of Turkey are on display, giving the students a chance to take also a mini tour of Turkey.
