Peace and Dialog Symposium Held in Kenya
At the summit organized by the Light Academy and the Hira Journal, Intercultural Dialog Movement of Turkish Scholar Fethullah Gülen was revisited. Many academics, bureaucrats and businessmen from the 6 African countries attended the summit.
Africa which has been thirsty for coexistence despite its many differences has finally met the ideal setting for peace and dialog.
At the meeting where Muslim and Christian attendants were addressed, it was underlined that Islam is a religion of peace and brotherhood. Also Gülen's intellectual personality and his approach toward "others" were pointed out.
One of the attandees said:
When you're with Gülen you take life seriously. You feel the sorrow and pain of the humanity deep down in your heart. And you see the love of humanity, which is sublime and unrequited love in him.
It was exemplified that how Fethulah Gülen supported educational activities around the world and strived for humanity gather around love, peace and brotherhood. The Light Academy which became one of the most successful schools in Kenya was singled out as a concrete example of the philosophy explained at the summit.
Also at the conference, books about Gülen's thoughts were handed out to the attendants. The summit which was hosted by Kenya ended up with success and the attendants said "yes" to The Movement of Coexistence in Peace.
