Poets to Celebrate Prophet Mohammad's Birthday

The Turkish Magazine Yagmur participated in birthday celebrations of the "Holy Week" organized for Prophet Mohammad (peace be unto him) with a festival of poets.

During the celebration program that was held at the Cemberlitas Firat Culture Center (FKM) in Istanbul last night, poets read poems that were dedicated to the Prophet Mohammad as part of the called "Poems Dedicated to Prophet Mohammad". The program opened with a performance conducted with a "reed flute"(an instrument in Sufi music) and a speech by Professor Ibrahim Canan. Guests also listened a poem by Fethullah Gülen Hodjaefendi via a cine-vision broadcast. Poets participating in the celebration program included: A. Vahap Akbas, Adem Ozbay, Bahattin Karakoc, Cevat Akkanat, Erdem Bayazit, Huseyin Akin, Huseyin Say, Mehmet Avci, M. Ragip Karci, Mustafa Oguz, Mustafa Ozcelik, Nurettin Durman, Nurullah Genc, Ozcan Unlu, Sami Unal, Seref Akbaba, and Yusuf Ozken Ozburun. Seref Yilmaz read Arif Nihat Asya's famous poem dedicated to the Prophet Mohammad, while Kutlukhan Sakirov read a poem by the Uzbek poet Mesreb . At the end of the "Birthday Celebration Poets Festival", Mustafa Demirci gave a concert.
