How does the Gülen Movement nurture professional skills and leadership qualities?
The service-projects and institutions have a corporate identity and their management is in the hands of real people. However, having been appointed as a manager through a contract, these people are not allowed to utilize the institutions for their own benefits. Those who become unable to work actively in the Gülen Movement pass their role to newcomers or the next generation who will carry the torch of the altruistic services of the Gülen Movement. The activism can be described in terms of a relay race in which the current generation is running and passing the torch on to the next cohort to take it onward and higher. In this way, the consciousness and ethic of responsibility nurtures individual upward mobility.
