What is a mobilization and what kind of a mobilization is the Gülen Movement?
The term mobilization is used in general to refer to the action of a group or a group itself which marshals and organizes its resources for use for a particular purpose. This organizing includes the movement of personnel, equipment, supplies, and incidentals to project sites, as well as the establishment of offices, buildings, and other facilities necessary for work on projects.
In this book, when we call the Gülen Movement a mobilization, we are referring to the efforts of the participants to direct resources to achieve their goals in the form of service-projects. The Gülen Movement is a collective social or cultural mobilization.
