Fethullah Gülen to be Tried at Ankara No. 2 DGM
Fethullah Gülen is to be tried at Ankara No. 2 State Security Court (DGM) on charges levelled at him by Ankara DGM Pulic Prosecutor Nuh Mete Yuksel. Yuksel had earlier asked that Gülen be arrested in absentia, due to his being in the United States for "medical treatment," but this request, although accepted at first, was overturned by Istanbul No.2 DGM the other day. Gülen, if found guilty on charges of terrorism and attempting to overthrow the states and replace it with one based on Shariah (Islamic holy law), could face up to 10 years in prison. 2000-04-09 00:00:00
