Academics, politicians, and intellectuals describe Turkish schools that have spread across the globe in the book "Bridges for Peace –Turkish Schools Opening to the World".

Published by Ufuk Publishing Company, the book contains evaluations by 27 famous names, including former Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit, Professor Mehmet Saglam, and Kyrgyz writer Cengiz Aytmatov.

The achievements of Turkish schools, pioneered by the Anatolians and spread all over the world, were recorded in this book. The book was edited by Professor Ilber Ortayli, Professor Toktamis Ates, and Professor Eser Karakas. Bridges for Peace has sold over 300,000 copies.

Professor Ates made a speech at a meeting held at the Hilton Hotel to publicize the book. Ates said Turkish schools are carrying the Turkish flag as well as the Turkish language across the globe: "I am grateful to the teachers at those schools."

Professor Ortayli has so far visited 30 Turkish schools and has high hopes for an increase of schools in the future.

Professor Karakas said, "The Turkish schools are part of a project aimed at increasing the wealth and security of Turkey."
