Praise to Turkish Schools From Mongolian Minister
Mongolian-Turkish schools play an important role in the education of Mongolia, a country twice the size of Turkey with a population of only 2.7 million people. Mongolian Minister of Education, Culture and Science Puntsag Tsagaan said that the country's scientists, politicians and intellectuals of tomorrow will come from these schools, in which 904 students study.
The rate of literacy is quite high in Mongolia which became a democratic country in 1990. Higher eduction scholarships given by Turkey and Mongolian-Turkish schools in this country play a very important role in the education of Mongolia where the literacy rate is 98 percent. The number of Mongolian-Turkish schools which were first opened in 1994 has increased to five over time. The schools where 904 students study have accomplished a great deal so far. In 2005, Mongolian students have won a bronze medal in Romania in the Computer Project Olympiad, an honorable mention in Spain in the Physics Olympiad and a gold medal and an honorable mention in Ankara in the Turkish Language Olympiad. These achievements have been recently awarded by Mongolian Minister of Education, Culture an Science Puntsag Tsagaan.
Minister has given ''Medal of High Service to Education'' to Mongolian-Turkish Schools General Director Adem Tatli and two school directors. Mongolian Minister of Education, Culture an Science wants Turkey to support them more in the field of education. (By Suleyman Kurt, Ulan Bator)
